Who can do it?

Anyone can, from toddlers to the elderly. You don't need any drumming experience and there is no definite right way or wrong way to do it. It's easy. Just relax and we'll show you how!

"For three years Alison Surridge has led very successful drumming classes at the school. The classes are fun and well organised, and have enriched the music curriculum."

What else does HOUSE of RHYTHM get up to?

As well as taking her workshops all over Sussex, in 2004 Alison helped to raise three and a half thousand pounds for the street children of Nepal for the Pegasus Childrens Project, raising funds through Tribal Earth Festivals. She is also a part-time lecturer at Sussex Downs College, Eastbourne.

What about the drums?

The djembe drums and djuns djuns HOUSE of RHYTHM use are mainly from the Gambia, Ivory Coast and Ghana. The hypnotic rhythm of the goatskin djembes is complimented brilliantly by the bass tone of the djuns djuns, creating rich, evocative sounds.
